The MGA Board is comprised of a Patron, Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice Chairman, Vice Secretary, and Vice Treasurer who compose the main leadership structure. The Board is responsible for overseeing all functions, including development of the organisation and its members. As public representatives of the MGA, the Board is responsible for communications, attending events, mediating community and MGA issues, enforcing regulations, and maintaining commitment to the vision of the organisation.
Tourism and Conservation Affairs
The Tourism and Conservation Affairs Committee is responsible for providing a link between MGA and tourism and conservation stakeholders through establishing and maintaining relationships, following news and events in the Mara, and participating in tourism and conservation-based work.
Marketing and Communications
The Marketing and Communications Committee is responsible for the production and distribution of all MGA marketing materials, the branding of the organisation, and the website and social media.
Membership and Community Affairs
Membership and Community Affairs ensures the wellbeing and rights of all members and the MGA as an organization that represents the broader welfare of the Maasai Mara Community. The committee members act as advocates and intermediaries in seeking fair labor practices and employment opportunities for MGA membership.
Legal Affairs is responsible for managing registration, ensuring lawfulness of members and organization, and working with MGA lawyers and legal advisory bodies. Additionally, Legal Affairs is responsible for ensuring that all members are informed about their rights as workers and providing legal trainings.
The finance committee is responsible for the management, distribution, and procurement of funds. Additionally, the finance committee must keep records and reports, prepare for audits, and manage and pay taxes.
