I first began working as a guide in 2000, I was among the first Maasai guides working in the Mara and made great sacrifices to pursue this life for myself and my family. Since I began in 2000, I have worked at many camps and organisations including Siana Wildlife Trust, Olare Camp, Karen Blixen, Leisure, and more. In 2006 I bought my first car and later decided to work as a Freelance Guide. I am a graduate of Prescott College’s Field Guide Training Program of 2016. Because I never went to school before the training program, I understand the role of the MGA in educating the Maasai Community. In my teenage years I was a moran, so I received extensive traditional education in the land and wildlife, but now I am now a university certified guide and my broad experience is formally recognised.
